Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s public clash with President Trump grew more intense on Saturday after she said she has been receiving threats for breaking with him on several major issues.

Greene said on X that private security firms have reached out to her with warnings about her safety. She wrote that a surge of threats is being encouraged by “the most powerful man in the world,” referring to Trump, whom she says she supported and helped elect.

She noted that past waves of heated criticism against her have led to death threats and even criminal convictions for some of the men involved. According to Greene, the tone of the attacks she is receiving now feels similar.

Her recent vote to release documents related to Jeffrey Epstein has caused friction within Trump’s second administration. Greene has also pushed back against her party on how to handle the Affordable Care Act subsidies that are scheduled to end later this year.

Trump fired back on Truth Social on Saturday, criticizing Greene and accusing her of betraying the Republican Party. He referred to her as “Lightweight Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Brown” and claimed she had “turned Left” and become a “RINO.” He went on to compare her to lawmakers he views as insufficiently loyal.

Greene has been increasingly outspoken about her frustrations with Republican leadership, especially after Trump declined to support her interest in running for the Senate.

She said her criticism of Trump’s comments about the Epstein files comes from wanting to stand with victims. Greene added that, as a woman, she takes threats from men very seriously, and that this situation gives her a small glimpse into the fear Epstein’s victims may have felt.

Greene insisted that she still backs most of Trump’s agenda and votes for his priorities, which makes his recent hostility toward her even more surprising. She also claimed that his words have energized online trolls who target her.

She said the intense nature of modern politics has shaped how she is treated when she disagrees with Trump or other Republican figures.

In her statement, Greene said the current political climate has become too toxic and too volatile. She called for an end to what she described as the “Political Industrial Complex” and urged Americans to work together.

“Our country is worth saving and it can only be done if we pull together and save ourselves,” she wrote.
